Kamarpara mission organized one day orientation for village leaders on 23 January 2020. The purpose is to enrich the faithful to become more vibrant with a new vision in the New Year 2020. Fr. Britto gave session on how to become a new way of being as leaders in the local Church. Later Catechist Dominic Hansda with his vast experience guided them in areas where we need to be more authentic in dealing with the different problems faced by our Christians in village level. In the group discussion, all 24 village leaders, 3 catechists and 2 pastoral council members actively took part and came out with better solutions. Also, parish activities of previous year 2019 was evaluated and all with an open mind acknowledged the positive outcome and promised to work together as one team for the betterment of the Mission in 2020. After the meeting over, half day picnic was organized for them.
To build and highlight more on small Christian Community at Kamarpara Mission, Regional SCC team with Fr.Sarto, Fr.Rony, Sr.Christin, HC and Sr.Rajni,SMI visited Majherdanga village on 9 January 2020. SCC group members of 4 units (Sukurdanga, Jamaetola, Siramtola & Nildanga) were assembled at Majherdanga Village leader Mr. Raban Hembram’s house. Word of God was taken in a solemn procession to Mr. Borson Tudu’s house with Santal traditional dance. Regional SCC team instructed and animated the members of 4 units and prepared them for next SCC Regional representatives’ visit on 12 February 2020.
The Conversion of St. Paul was celebrated as Kamarpara parish feast on 26 January 2020 in a solemn manner. The parishioners of Kamarapra in a unique way celebrated the feast by carrying the newly decorated statue of St. Paul in a procession organized by St. Paul-SCC group of Jawaetola. It was a double celebration for the parishioners. One is the parish patron St. Paul and the other is the Republic Day of India. In the morning flag was hoisted by Mr. Shyam Tudu (working at Burdwan Court) and later festive Holy Eucharist was celebrated by Fr. Britto. The whole parish community experienced the blessing of St. Paul and resolved to work tirelessly like the patron for the glory of our Lord Jesus. Tiffin was sponsored by Nararayanpur and Bigra villagers for entire parishioners on the day. Big thanks to youth, Dance group and children for their active involvement.
The theme ‘New way of Being’ was experienced at 2 villages of Kamarpara Mission by the visit of Regional Dioceses’ SCC representatives on 12 February 2020. St. Monica SCC Unit of Sukurdanga and St.Thomas SCC Unit of Narayanpur with zeal organized this great event at their respective villages. Rev. Fr. Sarto, Regional SCC Director sent 2 teams with 10 representatives consist of different dioceses of Bengal & Sikkim Region which includes Fr.Samuel Lepcha from Darjeeling Diocese and Fr. Stephen Toppo, Asansol Diocese, Religious Nuns, youth and Lay-Leaders. It was a moment of grace for the villagers to receive them. All representatives were welcomed with garlands before SCC meet. Word of God was presented in a more meaningful manner to all who were present. After the SCC-meet, Regional SCC representatives also enacted the theme to the faithful gathered there. Many neighboring villagers also took part in it. Regional team appreciated the creative way of presenting the Word of God and geographical map of their Units and history of SCC units in their villages in a simple way. After the event, Fr. Britto hosted fellowship dinner for Regional representatives at St.Paul’s presbytery. Thanks to Fr.Nilu Murmu for preparing the SCC Units of Kamarpara Mission.
